Intensive Outpatient Therapy

Intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy. IOP allows individuals to work through their issues at a higher level of care with more support.  It is designed for individuals who need more treatment and support than can be provided through traditional outpatient services, but who do not require the level of care provided through residential/inpatient treatment services.

IOP typically involves supported groups, individual therapy sessions, and family therapy programming that is conducted several times per week.

The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with access to the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities. We work with our clients to assist them in being present within the roles of being a parent, employee and support for others in their lives while also receiving the support for themselves.

Support Group Meeting

Group Therapy

You have often heard the phrase, “there is power in numbers.” At the Nourished Nest Foundation, we believe that sharing our experiences can enhance and support the journey.  Groups provide a forum based on safety and confidentiality where you work in tandem with others working through similar experiences and challenges. When we share our experiences, stigma is reduced and acceptance of self and others begins.

Group therapy assists clients in reacclimating into the everyday world by practicing specific behavioral techniques

  • 2-hour small group sessions weekly

  • Small group size averaging between 8-10 participants.

  • Groups are a variety of process and coping skills, as well as inclusive of DBT, Mindfulness and Recovery as well as additional topics.

Family Picnic

Family Therapy

There is no force greater in our development of self than our family. Biological family, chosen family, family of origin. All types of family are a part of who we are and who we become. At the Nourished Nest Foundation, we offer family therapy as a part of our integrated services if you choose to incorporate it into your plan of care. We acknowledge and value all family types and invite them at your choosing into your healing journey.  Our experienced family therapists will guide you and offer plans of support that incorporate your unique family structure. We will work with you to improve communication, set shared goals, and establish paths to resolve conflict.

Medication Management

Medication management is a specialized aspect of mental health treatment that aims to optimize the use of medication in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions, such as therapy, to promote symptom reduction, improve functioning, and enhance the individual's quality of life.

You will begin with a  thorough evaluation and assessment. Our staff psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner will gather information about your symptoms, medical history, previous treatment experiences, and any other relevant factors. Based on the assessment, a determination will be made as to whether or not the medication is appropriate and, if so, select the most suitable medication(s) for you.

You will remain an active participant in the process. Your input will be the most important part of the process as you move through treatment.

Aftercare Support

After Care Support helps you to maintain the progress made in IOP, while we help you transition out of IOP with the support you need.

You can think of the aftercare as a support system that might include medication management with a medical doctor or psychiatrist, seeing an individual therapist one-on-one, and attending support groups. Aftercare may also include regular check-ins with the aftercare coordinator where a one-on-one session can help address the challenges of life and strategies can be outlined on how to face those challenges. This is your safety blanket as you step out into the world.

  • Gradually transition to Aftercare and prep for discharge from IOP

  • Receive a plan for stepping down from IOP

  • Regular check-ins with the aftercare coordinator
